LAB seminar-worskhop on September 25, 2009

The Librarians Association of Batangas (LAB) in cooperation with PLAI – Southern Tagalog Region Librarians Council (PLAI-STRLC) is cascading a seminar-workshop on “IFLA-FAIFE Internet Manifesto Trainers Workshop Project in the Philippines 2009” and ratification of Librarians Association Batangas Constitution and By-Laws on September 25, 2009 at the Multi-Media Center of University of Batangas, Hilltop Road, Batangas City

The seminar fee is Php300.00 per participant for certificates, hand outs and meals for the day.

LABarkadahan : a Study Tour Activity

LABarkadahan - came from the acronym LAB* which is the Librarians Association of Batangas and the word “Barkadahan” a Tagalog term used when a group of people is going somewhere to look or visit something.

Last January 30, 2009, the Librarians Association of Batangas (LAB) had a study/educational tour entitled “LABarkadahan” in pre-selected libraries and museums in Metro Manila namely, Ateneo De Manila University-Rizal Library; Lopez Libraries and Museum; and the Filipinas Heritage Library (FHL).

The activity aimed to expose librarians and library personnel to these state-of-the-art libraries in the country and to gain valuable knowledge on the latest trends in organizing their myriad resources and how these libraries are being efficiently managed.

It was participated by librarians and staff from the different libraries in Batangas : (2) from University of Batangas (UB); (2) from Casa Del Bambino; (3) from Golden Gate Colleges; (2) from Batangas Provincial Library; (1) from Regional Trial Court of Batangas; (2) from Lipa City Colleges; (1) from FAITH; and (2) from De La Salle Lipa. The Librarians' Association of Batangas (LAB) invites you to a Forum and General Assembly on April 18, 2008 from 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. at De La Salle Lipa, Lipa City, Batangas. The forum is entitled " Work, Attitudes, Values and Effectiveness (W.A.V.E.) in the Library Workplace" to be presented by Mr. Arnold Capuloy, Director for Linkages and International Relations of De La Salle Lipa as guest speaker.

The registration will start at 7:00a.m. with a fee of Php300.00 to cover snacks, lunch, kit and certificate. Kindly confirm your attendace on or before April 14, 2008, Monday so we can make necessary reseravtions.
